Keep Garland County Informed, Engaged and connected
Behind Every Strong Community Is A STRONG Local NEWSROOM
Local news is more than reporting. It’s the heartbeat of a community. It connects us, protects us and preserves our shared history. Since 1877, The Sentinel-Record has been where neighbors turn for trusted news and spirited sports coverage. Watch our story and hear from our newsroom why the legacy of local news matters in Garland County.
Strong local news strengthens civic life. It helps neighbors understand what’s happening and why it matters, from the decisions shaping their schools and governments to the forces influencing local businesses and daily life. Our stories have celebrated victories, mourned losses and shined light where it mattered most. When people have access to reliable news, they are more likely to vote, speak out and step forward to serve their community.
Your support ensures our newsroom has the resources to keep telling the stories that matter most to Garland County today, tomorrow and for generations to come. When you contribute to The Sentinel-Record Community Journalism Project, you're not just preserving history, you are helping write it. You're standing up for truth, for Garland County and for the generations who will look back on these stories to understand who we were and what we valued.
Editorial Independence and Donor Transparency
The Sentinel-Record values the trust of its readers and the public. The news staff operates independently of donors and maintains full editorial control over content produced with fund resources. Funders do not have any special access to reporters or newsroom projects. Donations help fund reporter salaries, newsroom projects and essential tools and technologies to expand our news coverage. Through our partner the Hot Springs Area Community Foundation, your gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Donors names are published by the Sentinel-Record unless they choose to remain anonymous.
